thirty things in thirty-one days

I have a project for myself this May, which was partially inspired by the Second Ever Sharpie Scout Art by the Card Challenge (SAC 2008 ) and partially inspired by the fact that I haven’t been at my happiest lately. SAC 2008 is much like the old art by the inch challenge; participating artists pick an appropriate amount of artistic output for a given month and then, when the month of the challenge comes around, they churn out some art. There were different levels of participation in case you decided to eat and sleep in addition to arting it up. SAC 2008, instead of measuring art by the inch, measures it by the number of artist trading cards produced. I signed up to make thirty cards this month. One insane person signed up to make 300. My mind boggles.

I didn’t want to just make thirty ATCs this month, though. I wanted a challenge of some sort, so I decided to try focusing on the good things in life by depicting thirty random things that I like on my SAC 2008 cards. That’s where the snappy Thirty Things in Thirty-One Days title comes from. No one can say that my education was for nothing.

Blue and Orange

Here is thing 1: the colour combination of blue and orange. Because, really, those colours together can be pretty fantastic. Just look away from the Oilers jersey, because that particular combination of blue and orange does nothing good to promote the cause.

Pretty! I like blue and orange too. (Miami Dolphins jerseys are a better depiction of this color combination.)

Heres some fabulous blue and orange: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ullafr/2451665051/
