I signed up for a Swap-Bot ATC swap for Valentine’s Day. I thought that it might get my Valentine mojo going. I was wrong. There is no Valentine mojo this year. So, I cranked these cards out during the eleventh hour and sent them on their merry little ways.
I’ll be baking all weekend with Ptichka and my mother-in-law in preparation for the first annual Valentine’s Day dessert fest. Everything will be bite-sized because my mother-in-law, bless her soul, rolls like that. If a recipe’s yield is forty cookies, she will wring seventy-two out of it. It’s awe-inspiring and just a wee bit frightening. Sugar and obscene amounts of butter could therefore get my Valentine mojo going. They could also clog my arteries.
If the baking and party planning doesn’t get the Valentine mojo going, there’s always Jen Worden’s sixth weekly challenge, which is two hundred shades of awesome:
The Challenge: Given that Valentine’s Day is next Thursday, this week’s theme is: SEEING RED. Make either an ATC or 4 x 4″ card using materials you already have. No buying new. Once completed, I want you to give your card to someone that did something above and beyond the call of duty, as a small “thank you”. The catch … it has to be a complete stranger. Experience what it’s like to let go of your art and allow it out into the world with no strings attached.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

You know I think this move has been really good for you - you sound so much happier. I have no Valentine Mojo either but I do like the idea of the Red ATC thing. Enjoy the bake fest - sounds wonderful!
whoops - meant to say I really like the ATCs - especially the heart branches.
I make bite-sized food too. Because people who don’t want to eat a lot of sweets can have a taste without feeling bad. If there are several things to try, you can sample them all without filling yourself up. And if really like something you can just eat about 10 of them.
I am wishing I could come to that dessert fest!
