For my brother-in-law’s birthday we had a sushi feed out in the country. This involved my mother-in-law doing an insane amount of prep and my other brother-in-law and Ptichka doing an insane amount of rolling. Me? I made some nigiri and took five gazillion pictures of the evening.
The highlight of the evening, I think, was my nine-year-old nephew’s realisation that he likes sushi. Hopefully we can fan the flames and he’ll one day love it. He even developed and then made his own roll. Behold! The Nephew Roll!
It contains grilled chicken, smoked salmon, cucumber, carrots, and mayonnaise. It’s damn tasty.
